Another Life
is an autobiographical novella that follows the life of a woman who grows up on the Eastern side of the iron curtain. The story shows her as she experiences her family's struggles, faces traditional views of life and expectations but stays determined and against all odds she reaches for her childhood dream
As a kid I always enjoyed listening to stories of the magical world that my grandparents grew up in, later I developed a love for reading. Just like my grandpa and my dad, I could spend countless hours with good books.
As time went by I dreamed of becoming an architect, later a teacher. None of that happened, but the appreciation of art, architecture, literature, and the English language has stayed with me.
It gives me joy when I see a nicely constructed sentence or a beautiful description of a place. And it makes me especially happy when I manage to tell my stories in a way that makes my readers think or pull their heartstrings. All that happening in English - it's a challenge I love to take on. (English is my second language.)

Writing stems from an inner need of understanding and being understood. Writing was never the goal. Writing is a tool and so is the language.
Writing is one end of the equation. It needs someone who reads.
Writing is giving voice to feelings and thoughts. Most importantly it gives opportunity to make connections.
Right now I have a strip of photographs rotating and I like it as I love taking pictures, to snap a moment in time to permanence with other than words.
As they flow across the page, I know exactly where and when they were taken, I am transported back to that time and place again. To me that’s the point of taking pictures, even if they are not of me.
I prefer if they are showing the environment rather than me in it.
Looking back in time I wish I had taken more pictures with people who matter to me the most. Like one with my father.
